Our current client is a leading software company that specializes in information services by supplying analytical tools and providing data and marketing services to their clients for better risk and financial management. On their behalf, we are currently looking for a 3rd Level Application Support Team Lead who will join a team of implementation application support analysts. Responsibilities:
- Lead the team of 4 analysts and support more junior member of team;
- Software Installation, Configuration, Testing and Support;
- Solution documentation/configuration management;
- Continual Process Improvements;
- Full Risk, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies (RAID) Management;
- Service Transition Management;
- Manage resource supply issues and requirements of the team;
- Responsible for ensuring a consistent high level of service and production systems, meeting availability targets;
- Rollout of patching and upgrades and lead in the planning of these activities;
- Identification and implementation of technical service improvements;
- Responsible for effective resolution of third line technical incidents and problems;
- Present technical knowledge in areas of specialization to internal and external forums.
Requirements:
- 5+ years related experience of the full end to end delivery process and advanced technical expertise;
- Experience of implementing several solutions end-to-end;
- Experience of implementing solutions to both hosted and software-sale environments;
- Highly-skilled in some other technology domains (e.g. Operating Systems, Databases, Hypervisors and VDI);
- Experience of leading implementation projects that comprise an element of complexity or client sensitivity;
- Experience of supporting multi-tenanted bespoke solutions for external clients;
- Experience of driving technological improvements on existing systems utilizing new technologies;
- Demonstrated the ability to take ownership, manage and resolve a variety of technical queries and incidents;
- Understanding of RDBMS and SQL (eg. Oracle, SQL server) is essential;
- Understanding of Linux operating systems with in depth knowledge with application management on the platform is essential;
- Strong Linux administration skills is essential;
- Windows server administration is desirable but not essential;
- Understanding of web servers (IIS/Apache Tomcat/WebSphere/JBOSS) or mainframe batch/TP systems in a commercial environment is essential;
- Knowledge and understanding of ITIL processes and methodology;
- Experience with Ansible is essential;
- Knowledge of Chef is essential;
- Scripting or programming experience (Bash, Python, PowerShell is essential);
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well within geographically dispersed teams.
